Our saloon bar dates back over 210 years – and everything about it from its massive dressers to the bar counter is all original! – this is probably the oldest and longest counter bar in the town and surrounding areas. The halfway prides itself on being a family pub – and has something for everyone from cask ales / old bottled beers from all over the world / ten’s of choices of whiskies even down to a slush puppy machine – for the kiddies !

Not into alcohol? – don’t worry the hotel has something for everyone , with a coffee machine that can make 20 different styles of coffee and tea, and a large selection of soft drinks from Pepsi / Pepsi Max to J2o’s and ginger beer – kick you feet up and have a read of a book or news paper provided, in our new sofa area.

What can you find in our bar ?

Well we have a drat board ( teams meet on a Tuesday ) , a pool table ( teams meet on a Thursday ) , quiz machines and now new £70 jackpot gaming machines. We have a leather sofa comfy area – ideal for reading or a quiet chat . A brand new Juke box – with up to date music ( loaded every Tuesday – with chart songs , - but defiantly not forgetting the old time favourites ) . games in our saloon bar include cards / dominoes / bar skittles and much more.
We are open from early in the morning to late at night – and families are welcome all the time.  Just off from the main bar we have recently added new smoking / decking area . With music and heated area ! ideal for the smoker or families who wish to keep an eye on their children in the beer gardens.
